Cloudy with a chance of Cardinal pride ☁️ For #NationalWeatherpersonsDay, we’re celebrating UIW alumnus Ryan Shoptaugh, BS ’17, whose work keeps communities informed when it matters most. “UIW’s Broadcast Meteorology program provided the foundation for my career, strengthening my expertise in atmospheric science and mathematics while preparing me to communicate effectively during high-pressure weather events,” Ryan shared. “The skills and professionalism I developed at UIW continue to guide my work as a meteorologist.” From storm chasing to extended live broadcasts, the newly appointed multi-market meteorologist says he still relies on the training and passion he developed as a Cardinal. UIW offers the only Bachelor of Science degrees in Meteorology and Broadcast Meteorology in San Antonio and throughout South Texas, giving students a deep understanding of the atmosphere and the skills to forecast, analyze and communicate weather.
