A true trailblazer, Osceola Macarthy Adams moved to New York and made history as one of the first Black actresses to perform on Broadway—breaking barriers in an industry that largely excluded Black talent. Beyond the stage, she was a powerful mentor and educator, serving as the director of the Studio Theatre School at the American Negro Theatre and nurturing generations of Black actors.
