Marie Laurio has thrived in uncomfortable situations her whole life, speaking in front of a TEDx Talk audience in fifth grade. In her first year with Syracuse volleyball, Laurio switched positions 19 games into the season.⁠ ⁠ Despite the late switch, she’s thrived since moving from the left to the right side, totaling 51 kills and 80 digs in 40 sets. Against Boston College on Oct. 22, Syracuse’s most competitive match of the season, Laurio delivered her first double-double of the season off the bench — 10 kills and 13 digs — en route to victory.⁠ ⁠ “She’s just Marie. She’s our little freshman.
