JUST IN: A 36-year-old Erick Acevedo was arrested by Suffolk County police for his role in an alleged international human trafficking ring that went through Suffolk County. Police say the man transported women to hotels and collected money from them for over the past three years. Police discovered the alleged trafficked women while surveilling the Roadway Inn in Huntington Station between March and September 2022, where they saw women they believed to be trafficking victims. Detectives are asking victims of the human trafficking ring or anyone with knowledge of the case to call Human Trafficking Unit detectives at 631-854-7512 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
