Monaco led only three times all night, all of them in the second quarter, as Bayern kept last season’s EuroLeague runner-up at arm’s length for most of the contest. The hosts opened a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter at 81-67, but Mike James briefly made things interesting by knocking down 3 consecutive triples on three straight Monaco possessions to trim the margin to 84-76. Still, Svetislav Pesic’s group had enough down the stretch to close it out and improve to 12-15 on the season. Monaco fell to 15-12 as its poor form continued.
Andi Obst led Bayern with 19 points, knocking down 5 three-pointers, while Isiaha Mike added 12. Oscar da Silva and Neno Dimitrijevic chipped in 11 points apiece, and Wenyen Gabriel finished with 10 points and 8 rebounds.
