After a 22-day break from their last appearance at Banterra Center — a stretch that included road stops in Nevada, North Dakota, Florida, and Tennessee — the SIU Men’s Basketball team finally returned home Saturday night and took down Ohio Valley Conference opponent Little Rock, 74–65.
No. 21 Drew Steffe delivered a breakout performance, scoring a career-high 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including 5-of-9 from beyond the arc. Rolyns Aligbe added nine points and seven rebounds while going a perfect 4-for-4 from the field. Davion Sykes scored 10, and Quel’Ron House contributed eight. Freshman Jalen Haynes continued his upward trend in minutes, logging 27 and finishing with 10 points, four assists, three rebounds, and two steals.
Little Rock was led by Kachi Nzel’s 17 points and Johnathan Lawson’s 16.
