As a staff, we have been blown away by the efforts of the SIU community to roll up their sleeves and work hard for our student-athletes. As we began to build upon our foundation, we discussed the attributes that would make up our program’s identity. The acronym PILLARS was formed by the 7 principles we choose to honor and strive for every day. Passion for how we do things. Integrity for how we go about things. Loyalty toward the opportunity we’ve been given. Learning how to follow, so that we may display Leadership when called upon. Accountable for our actions and those within our family. Respect for the sacrifices of those that came before us, demonstrated in how we carry ourselves. Finally, why I believe we are all here, is to Serve freely. Led by our faith as an obligation to give back for all we have been given.
