Just a few weeks ago when we were wondering if we should take a short trip to the beach, I almost said no because I didn’t feel “beach ready.” Just having that thought it my head upsets me, because I know I’m better than that.
Yes, I can get self-conscious about my body—especially after being in the best shape of my life while training for the Olympics. But I’m not training at that level anymore. Maybe I’ll see a tiny hint of some abs on the good days and I celebrate them but most of the time, this is me and I celebrate this too!!
So you know what? I went to the beach anyway, threw on my bikini, and rocked it—whether my body was ready or not. And the thing is…No one cared. The only one giving me a hard time was the voice in my head, telling me I wasn’t “good enough” for a two-piece. But in the end, no one friggin cared. Even if they did judged my body, who cares?! What they think don’t matter to me.
