THIS IS WHAT AN OLYMPIAN LOOKS LIKE
These photos were taken over the course of the year, capturing my body at varying levels of leanness and phases of my training and hormonal cycles.
I’ve been guilty of comparing myself now to my Olympic training days and it often left me upset. But I’m now learning to look back at my body this year as motivation and proof of what my body is capable of, a reminder of its strength and adaptability.
My body is incredible. Yes, it bloats like a mf when I travel or when my period is around the corner, it gets injured when I forget to rest- but it adapts to training, it runs, it rows, it lifts heavy weights and it performs. It FREAKING performs.
This body carried me through an Olympic journey and a few half marathons plus a surgery. This is my body in all its curves and edges (or the lack of them!). It deserves all the love and respect in the world. It’s not perfect but it’s mine and I’m proud of it. 🥹
I wish we would all love our bodies a little bit...
