From the classroom to community leadership ⚽️✨ Jonathan De Anda ’21 is proof that sport can be a powerful vehicle for impact. As a proud USF MS in Sport Management alum, Jonathan returned home to Salinas with a clear mission: build opportunity through sport. Today, he serves as General Manager of the Salinas Regional Sports Authority and was recently named the 2025 Salinas Chamber of Commerce Young Professional of the Year. Through the USF Sport Management program, Jonathan gained the skills he uses every day, from budgeting and strategic planning to leadership, marketing, and stakeholder communication. Just as important, he built a network of mentors and peers who continue to support his growth long after graduation. Now, Jonathan leads one of the region’s most impactful community sports facilities, welcoming over 11,500 visitors weekly and expanding access to safe, year-round play for thousands of youth. Sport.
