LIONS SOAR OVER EAGLES IN PLAYOFF OPENER: The jserrahockey team opened the ADHSHL Division 3 Valley Conference Playoffs in impressive form on Friday, as the Lions rolled past the Santa Margarita Eagles 8-1 in a first round game at Great Park Ice and FivePoint Arena in Irvine. The top-seeded Lions improve to 18-2 overall and will take on fifth-seeded Central Cathedral in the semifinals on Friday, February 20th. JSerra jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the end of the first period, courtesy of two goals from freshman Aaron Lee and a goal from junior Landon Pacheco. Four goals in the second period put the game away for the Lions, as junior Griffin Blake found the back of the net twice, and freshman Kyle Bennett and junior Caden Fernandez each added individual goals. Bennett’s second score of the night early in the third period capped the scoring for the Lions. Junior goalie Jacob White recorded 17 saves for JSerra. #lionnation #jserrahockey #jserraathletics
