“To celebrate
#NationalRoboticsWeek, I built a robotic shoe system called ‘Lazy Shoes!’ 👟
This robot is designed to transport shoes from one end of a living space to another, without the user having to get up. I built it using a programmable Arduino (an open-source platform used for building electronic projects that consist of both a physical programmable circuit board and a piece of software) and a remote controller. It’s powered by AA batteries, has an amazing range of motion, and can even reach speeds of up to 15 MPH!
I was inspired to create this robot because I wanted to find an innovative way for shoe owners, especially individuals with disabilities or people that aren’t able to physically get up or travel easily, to access their shoes in a more attainable way.”
