Temple Station Explorers recently had the opportunity to tour the Sheriff’s Communication Center (SCC), where they learned about one of the most critical tools used on patrol—our radios. SCC monitors all radio traffic for deputies, from routine communications to emergency calls, ensuring coordination and safety throughout the county. The Temple Station Explorers were excited to learn how radio communication works both in patrol vehicles and the radios worn on deputies’ chests, gaining valuable insight into the behind-the-scenes operations that support deputies in the field. Thank you to the Sheriff’s Communication Center staff for being so welcoming and taking the time to educate our Explorers. They had a great time and left with a deeper appreciation for this vital role in law enforcement.
