Back on campus at miamilawschool, where I served as Editor-in-Chief of the Race & Social Justice Law Review, to speak on a “Fireside Chat” panel about the importance of joining a law review and the lasting benefits that come with it—in law school and beyond. I absolutely treasure my time as a member of rsjlr. As EIC, my focus for Volume VI was mass incarceration and its ripple effects on communities of color. We invited legal scholars and practitioners to speak on campus and publish articles that delved into different aspects of this phenomenon. It was also during that time I served as a fellow at the aclufl, supporting staff attorneys working on litigation challenging alleged violations of various constitutional protections. I can’t overstate how much the work I did then—and what I’ve continued to do quietly over the years—shapes how I see the moment we are in now.
