When the "Dangerous Play" becomes your Season-Saver
In the 2025 offseason, the Buffalo Bills were one of the most vocal opponents of the "Tush Push" (or Brotherly Shove), with head coach Sean McDermott citing serious concerns over player safety. The Bills were one of 22 teams that voted to ban the play entirely. But as the saying goes: If you can’t beat ‘em, push ‘em.
Fast forward to January 11, 2026, in a do-or-die AFC Wild Card game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Trailing 24–20 with the season on the line, the Bills abandoned their "safety concerns" and went 4-for-4 on the very play they tried to outlaw. The icing on the cake? A massive 10-yard "Tush Push" where guard O’Cyrus Torrence literally carried Josh Allen to the goal line, followed by a game-winning touchdown plunge using the exact same formation.
Is it hypocrisy or just "playing to win"? 👇
