The Dutch government officially handed over a looted artefact to the Egyptian government in a ceremony in the Hague Thursday. The sculpture, depicting a senior official from the reign of Pharaoh Thutmose III (1479–1425 BC), surfaced at an art fair in 2022. ⁣ ⁣ Following an investigation by Dutch police, it was found to have been taken illegally from Luxor in Egypt.
