Today is National girls and women’s in sports day. I am so grateful for the gift that playing sports and working in sports has been to me. And I’m so appreciative of all of the amazing women who have set the bar so high in this industry while also coming along side me and encouraging me and walking with me. My love of basketball started when I was really young. I often joke that while other girls my age had NSYNC, Backstreet Boys and Jonathan Taylor Thomas posters on their wall, I had life size Clyde Drexler. I mean every single word when I say that breaking into the world of sports changed the entire trajectory of my life— my job, my family, my relationships, my friends— all of it is what it is today because of the impact working in Sports has had on me. I wasn’t anywhere near this industry until I was already a 34 year old single mom of 3 kids and desperately trying to keep my head above water and find my place in life.
