Then and now. In continuing our walk down memory lane for Throwback Thursday, we are tossing all the way back to Bryan Hay circa 1990, walking the halls of RMHA when it was housed at Beth Joseph, and fast forwarding to today, when the Principal Emeritus stopped by Cafe Hafooch, our pop-up Israeli Café, Cafe Hafooch, run by 4th and 5th grade students and superbly managed by their incredible Hebrew and Judaics teachers. The students welcomed their special guest in beautiful Hebrew and hosted with confidence and poise. While Mr. Hay may not have had chocolate milk or chocolate treats with sprinkles in quite a while, he agreed his Yelp review would be a solid 10/10. The best part? Watching Mr. Hay visit with students whose parents once attended the school themselves—a pretty great reminder of what 50 years of DJDS looks like in real time.
