Repost from randigold1 Today is National Wear Red Day, and for me this is not a campaign, it is personal. My closest dearest friends Pam and Sandy are heart attack survivors. Two women I love and respect almost died before their stories became “survivor” stories. Neither looked like the stereotype of someone about to have a heart attack. Neither walked into those moments thinking, this could be the day my life changes forever. Heart disease is still the number one killer of women, yet too many of us miss the signs, dismiss our symptoms, or put everyone else first until it is almost too late. I watched what it looks like when quick action, the right medical team, and sheer determination create a different outcome. But I have also seen how much fear, recovery, and lifestyle change sit behind the word survivor.
