Syracuse ice hockey head coach Britni Smith is headed to the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics as an assistant for Team Canadaâs womenâs team. Itâs a stepping stone in her international coaching tenure, having worked with Hockey Canada for over a decade.â
â
Last year, Smith helped Canada beat the United States at the Rivalry Series and earn a silver medal at the IIHF Womenâs World Championship. She had conversations about an Olympic position three months later, reliving her dream as a player on the biggest stage.â
â
âSheâs going to do everything she can to help them get better and bring that team together to accomplish that goal,â former coworker Matt Desrosiers said.â
