Syracuse was destroyed by Duke 38-3 at the JMA Wireless Dome Saturday. The Orange struggled to move the ball on offense with Rickie Collins making his first career start for the injured Steve Angeli. After the Orange tied the Blue Devils 3-3 on a Tripp Woody field goal midway through the first quarter, it was all Duke. Less than a minute later, Blue Devils running back Nate Sheppard ripped off a 49-yard touchdown run. Duke went into halftime leading 24-3 as Collins and Syracuse’s offense stalled, and it continued to pile onto its lead in the second half. The Orange’s defense allowed over 500 yards of total offense to the Blue Devils and quarterback Darian Mensah. In comparison, Collins finished with 229 yards, no touchdowns and one interception. Click the link in the bio to learn more about Collins and Syracuse football.
