Off the back of an impressive ACC Tournament run ending in a 5-1 battering at the hands of SMU, Syracuse fell to Hofstra 2-0 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to end its season.⁠ ⁠ The Orange had not played in the tournament since 2023 and started slowly. Inside 25 minutes, the Pride’s top goal scorers — Laurie Goddad and SU transfer Daniel Burko — got the better of Syracuse’s recent savior in net Tomas Hut.⁠ ⁠ The Orange continued to push for an equalizer in the second half, going close when Gavin Wigg hit the woodwork with a header.
