Syracuse University’s Department of Public Safety is investigating a racial slur found on a whiteboard outside a Lawrinson Hall dorm room door Saturday. DPS officers responded to the incident Saturday afternoon, according to a bias incident report.
Students reported that the slur was written around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning. The investigation is ongoing, and officers have reviewed security camera footage and building access records, the report states. There is no suspect information at this time.
“We take incidents like this extremely seriously and are committed to conducting a thorough investigation,” DPS Chief Michael Bunker said in the report.
