In the early 2010s, the Miami Dolphins’ coaching staff was littered with future head coaches. Some of the Dolphins’ prominent names included current NFL head coaches Dan Campbell (Detroit Lions), Ben Johnson (Chicago Bears) and Zac Taylor (Cincinnati Bengals). Syracuse’s offensive coordinator Jeff Nixon was there alongside them, coaching the Dolphins’ running backs from 2011-15. Nixon took a piece from each of his former colleagues’ coaching philosophies to steer the Orange’s nation-leading passing offense in 2024 with quarterback Kyle McCord. Click the link in our bio to learn more about how Nixon applies his NFL resume as a college football coach.
