Payton Anderson acquired the nickname “Bear” at 6 years old, when he placed his hand on his sister, which covered her whole rib cage. His father, Rob Anderson, said it looked like he had a bear paw.⁠ ⁠ Physical tools like hand size have molded Anderson into a freak athlete, alongside the gym work he’s engaged in throughout his childhood. Rob, a sports trainer, tracked his son’s wall ball reps to build toward 15,000.⁠ ⁠ Anderson’s preparation led him to become a pivotal part of SU’s offense as a freshman last year, when he scored 14 goals, capitalizing on an opportunity to fill starter Finn Thomson’s void when he was injured.⁠ ⁠ Click the link in our bio to learn more.
