Adriana Maria, an Old Bridge High School wrestler, couldn’t move after she sustained a severe spinal cord injury during a match this year.
Adriana’s undergone at least 2 surgeries since then, regaining some movement in her hands, but there’s been no update on whether she’s regained any movement in her leg. Old Bridge wrestling coach John Post said that “doctors remain hopeful that as inflammation decreases, Adriana may regain additional movement.”
But in this time of crisis, Adriana’s community has come together to support her: A GoFundMe was started to help cover her medical costs, and they’ve already raised over $128,000.
