After the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the pick upgraded to a 2027 first round pick for Boston. HOWEVER, the conditions of where this pick could end up are still unresolved because of some implications revealed about the pick by Frank Seravalli. In regard to the Seth Jones trade, the Panthers pick they sent to Chicago (2026 1st) in exchange for Jones is actually top 10 protected. That means that if the Panthers (who are currently in contention to finish in the bottom ten of the NHL Draft) finish within that threshold, will KEEP their pick and Chicago will get the 2027 1st (That Boston currently owns) If that is the case, Boston would automatically receive Florida’s 2028 first round pick, rather than having two first round picks in 2027 😳 Thoughts?
