If you want $10M, you need to stop thinking like a $1M company. Most owners set a revenue goal… then try to hit it with the same team structure. That’s not ambition. That’s math denial. Here’s the real breakdown. If you’re at $1M and want to reach $10M, that’s $9M in new revenue. If your average rep quota is $250K/year, you’ll need 36 reps producing at that level. Now ask yourself: are you realistically going to manage 36 reps yourself? Of course not. Most sales teams cap out at 5–10 reps per manager. So if you round up to 40 reps, you’ll need 4 sales managers. And once you have 4 managers, they’ll need a leader too—usually a VP of Sales.
