Hurry up, we're dreaming 🌌⁣ The spiral galaxy M83 – known as the Southern Pinwheel – lies 15 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra and was first discovered by French astronomer Nicolas Louis de Lacaille in 1752. M83 is one of the brightest galaxies in the sky and can be seen with binoculars, most easily in May.⁣ ⁣ NASAHubble captured this image of M83 with its hundreds of thousands of stars and thousands of star clusters, showing off the galaxy's spiral structure and revealing interstellar "bubbles" produced by supernova remnants.
