Mita’s has been open for more than a decade and continues to draw locals and tourists alike for its small-plates menu of Spanish and Latin American cuisine. And according to USA TODAY's 2026 Restaurants of the Year list, mitascincy is now one of the 39 top places to eat in America. "I couldn't be more proud," owner Jose Salazar said of the honor. "Mita's is very personal, since it is named after my grandmother. I think that when you build something like this, there should be some emotional attachment to it because it comes through in how you treat your guests." Salazar also said he and his staff have worked tirelessly to keep Mita's firing on all cylinders since opening day. "When a lot of restaurants get to this age, they tend to rest on their laurels, but our staff still executes everything on the highest possible level," he said.
