On Feb. 1, 1999, American Airlines joined British Airways, Cathay Pacific and Qantas to found the oneworld alliance with a bold vision: make global travel smoother, more rewarding and more connected than ever before. Since then, more than 9 billion customers have flown with oneworld member airlines.
Today, the alliance includes 15 world‑class airlines and serves more than 900 destinations, with member airlines flights taking off or landing on average every six seconds. As we celebrate our centennial year, we’re proud of how far we’ve come and excited for the next 100 years of caring for people on life’s journey.
