Bill Collins made history as the first Black captain for CUBuffsFootball 🏈 Prior to the 1969 Liberty Bowl, in an act of support and unity, Collins’ co-captains stayed back while he took the coin toss alone. In response, Alabama, whose team was not integrated, sent a large group of players to midfield in an attempt to intimidate. Collins led the Buffs to a 47-33 win over the Crimson Tide. Collins’ wife, Esther, was welcomed back to Folsom Field this season as an honorary captain. #GoBuffs | #BlackHistoryMonth
