Hello friends! This is a long weird painting I’ve just about finished. 💓 Update on me and mine: I put my online shop on pause a couple of weeks ago so I could ease some pressure while trying to do daily mutual aid tasks here in Minneapolis AND try to complete some paintings for an upcoming solo exhibition this summer. I’ve never closed the shop before now, even when I’ve been out of town! 🫠 My studio mate and dear friend Olly curlworks_ told me that now is as good a time as ever. :) He is right, as usual. We have so many neighbors right now in Minneapolis who are extremely vulnerable and need assistance. Money and groceries, yes, but also safe rides to school, work and random tasks, socialization because it’s scary and stressful to adults and kids. Etc etc etc. This has been a huge learning experience for me. Both on how to help folks in the way that they wish to be helped, and how I can try to incorporate this into my own life, around my work schedule. Gotta say, I’m not sleeping ...
