Welcome to “All Bear Edition” 🐻 I’ve been painting this bear into scenes for the last couple years. At art fairs this year a lot more people asked about him, maybe because I hit peak bear with having him appear in three prints in the booth (He won’t be ignored.) There isn’t much of a story about him. I like to leave these things open ended. But I think he adds a sense of whimsy and a reminder that the scenes are fantasy. I have painted Andrew, my husband, as a bear before, alongside me as a human. :) Bear always shows up with cats in the paintings and twice the cat has been Jasper, our oldest boy. Andrew also really loves cats and I’m surprised he doesn’t own (or maybe he’ll write?) “DIY Projects to do with Your Cat.” There’s a little bear reading a book in the mural of “Everyone’s Work is Equally Important.” I don’t expect people to notice because it’s small, but he’s up there.
