Defensive back Ma’khi Jones was someone that the Seminoles acquired in the transfer portal this offseason, with the help of new General Manager John Garrett. Jones is a true sophomore that recorded 35 tackles (1.5 for loss), one sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, one pass break up, and one quarterback pressure during the 2025 season (according to ESPN Stats and Information). The defensive back could fill the ROVER position that now has a void with Earl Little Jr. transferring to Ohio State.
