Sorry if this made you feel sick… The crazy part is that he was just up and walking around like there weren’t bugs crawling inside his neck. It’s definitely not all fun and games on safari. This photo was captured at Tsavo West, known for providing a less crowded and more “rugged” experience, and it certainly lived up to its reputation. This was my first time observing evidence of the violence of nature. I often think about this guy and wonder if he’s still around. It’s hard to tell if this was from a human or a predator, but either way, it seemed a bit too gnarly to walk away from. Yet walk away he did, and I hope this zebra is still out there somewhere. I figure if he could soldier on like this, I got no excuse to give up, either. #realnature #natureiswild #gruesome
