This year, we recognize James L. Hudson ’61, attorney, academic lecturer, and venture capitalist, as a 2026 Bennie Award honoree at the 38th Annual “A Candle in the Dark” Gala & Inaugural Ball.⁠ ⁠ A trailblazing leader in global finance and public service, Hudson previously served as U.S. Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and as chair of the Morehouse College Board of Trustees, helping to shape institutional and international impact through visionary leadership.⁠ ⁠ “A Candle in the Dark Gala” will also celebrate additional luminaries whose leadership and service embody the Morehouse legacy including 2026 Bennie Award honorees Willie Woods ’85 and Dr. Willie Underwood III ’88, as well as 2026 Candle Award honorees Eric G.
