“I get inspiration from traditional embroidery that draws from Tunisian landscapes, traditional architecture, pottery and food” Based in Tunis, Tunisia, Asma Ben Aissa (asma.ben.aissa) makes textiles, sculptures, and installations that draw on local craft traditions and personal narratives to explore the relationship between landscape, memory, and social transformation. With a focus on domestic objects and gestures of preservation, she works with sheets, wardrobes, benches, chests, and garments to explore how materials can carry memories, emotions, and lived experiences. Asma is one of the talents featured in the Rabanne Talents program. Rabanne and Gasworks London come together to inspire and support emerging artists through dialogue and the dissemination of content. - Asma Ben Aissa’s Gasworks residency was supported by Selim & Houda Bouafsoun (selimhb houdaksouda). In collaboration with mappingculture _ #RabanneTalents#Rabanne #GasworksLondon
