Panel 1 of the Student Choreography Workshop (SCW) marked the first adjudicated showing of this year’s new works. As part of our annual in-house creative lab, Trainees presented their developing choreography in a structured “Works in Progress” format, inviting dialogue, reflection, and refinement. Serving on this year’s Panel 1 were Artistic Director Angelica Stiskin angelicastiskin, and faculty members Blake Krapels blakekrapels, and Robert Redick robert_redick, who offered thoughtful feedback to help determine which works will advance to Panel 2. Grounded in Liz Lerman’s Critical Response Process, the conversation prioritized artist agency while encouraging clarity, risk-taking, and growth. This stage of SCW is both rigorous and generative, asking choreographers to articulate their vision while remaining open to refinement. We look forward to seeing which works continue forward in the process. 📸 laylamshoo #joffreyballetschool #traineeprogram #artistdevelopment #nycdance #scw202...
