It's a historic first Winter Olympic medal for South America! Brazil's Lucas Pinheiro Braathen has won gold in the men's super-G. Pinheiro Braathen clung on for dear life as his skis slipped through a turn in his second run, almost sending him tumbling. But he held on and made it down the course to win Olympic gold, largely thanks to blowing the rest of the field away in his first run earlier in the day. "I'm so proud of you," Pinheiro Braathen's mother said as the pair embraced. Pinheiro Braathen switched allegiance to his mother's nation of birth in 2024 after splitting from Norway's ski program.
