Healthy relationships don’t just happen, we have to be taught what they look like. That’s why, during Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, our Project H.E.A.R.T.S. team is bringing an important lesson to middle and high school students across Frederick County Public Schools. Using this powerful video created by join1love for their Love Better campaign, followed by interactive discussion, students have explored the difference between what is often portrayed as “romantic” and what is actually healthy. While many of us grow up feeling love, we’re rarely taught how to recognize respect, boundaries, and emotional safety.
