Back to ’83: Hollywood Hardwood Classics
Do You Remember? Step inside the time capsule.
At the 1983 NBA All-Star Game inside The Forum, basketball met Hollywood in its purest form. Early ’80s Los Angeles meant the world’s biggest celebrities, fur coats courtside, and legends sharing the same hardwood.
After an iconic National Anthem performance, basketball’s icons took center stage. Larry Bird brought his effortless brilliance to the All-Star spotlight, while Los Angeles royalty represented in classic ’83 threads from the Los Angeles Lakers. Across the city, the Los Angeles Clippers marked the moment too, a reminder of an era when denim jackets, satin warm-ups, and bold team identity defined the look.
Now the story comes full circle. The NBA All-Star Game returns to Los Angeles this year for the first time since 2011, bringing the spotlight back to the city at Intuit Dome, the NBA’s newest arena and one of the most technologically advanced venues in the game.
