🇨🇱 The Battle of Chacabuco took place on February 12, 1817, led by patriots' Bernardo O’Higgins and José de San Martín. They led the army to liberate Chile, ultimately defeating Spanish Royalists. A year later, O’Higgins officially proclaimed Chile’s independence in a ceremony.
