CONNECTOR: Dr. Rachel Loewen Walker (BA’06, MA’08) establishes and leverages connections across disciplines to help realize social change. Loewen Walker is an assistant professor in the Women’s and Gender Studies program and the Department of Political Studies. She also leads the Social Innovation Lab on Gender and Sexuality—an interdisciplinary, community-led knowledge mobilization hub, that works with students, community organizations, and researchers to action projects for community partners.  Donor support allows professors like Loewen Walker to work with graduate and undergraduate students to conduct community-engaged research that helps students build rich scholarly profiles of their own.
