LEADER: Water is the lifeblood of people and communities. Before becoming the executive director of the Global Institute for Water Security (GIWS) at USask, Dr. Corinne Schuster-Wallace has been a leader in research of the precious resource. Among many entities, Schuster-Wallace has supported research efforts for the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health and the Public Health Agency of Canada.
Now leading GIWS, Schuster-Wallace is powering critical research at USask that will protect our precious freshwater resources needed for the world’s growing demand for sustainable food production, mitigating the risk of water-related disasters such as floods, droughts, and fires, co-creating research with Indigenous communities to weave Traditional Knowledge with western science to better protect water, health, and more.
