An individual called University Police and Public Safety (UPPS) and reported smoke coming from a vent on the ground floor of the Sparks Building on Friday afternoon, a chief from Alpha Fire Department said. The fire department was then dispatched to the building and told the Collegian it was a false alarm. Penn State’s Office of Physical Plant told The Daily Collegian the incident was steam-related, and no one was harmed.
