“My mother occasionally would say, ‘And in the end, we won,’” says Holocaust survivor Eva Clarke. Her mother, Anka, gave birth to Eva as she arrived at Mauthausen, a Nazi concentration camp, in 1945 and kept her newborn alive until the camp was liberated by American soldiers. Eva is one of three babies born to women who were forced to work as slave laborers at a German factory before being sent to Mauthausen. Today, Eva Clarke has four grandchildren; Hana Berger-Moran has two; and Mark Olsky has five. Their mothers lived to be 96, 90, and 84, respectively. #worldwarii #WWII #holocaustsurvivors
