“I was told that… I was born on a train. But no details. And so I thought, ‘Oh, hey, cool,… I was born on a train,’” says Mark Olsky. Years later, he learned the truth: His mother gave birth to him near the end of World War II while she was a Nazi captive on a train bound for a concentration camp. She arrived at Mauthausen the day after the camp’s gas chambers are believed to have run out of gas.
