This month has been especially cruel to me… I lost TWO of my best forever friends… Loosing Lamonte McLemore, and Today we mourned the passing of Reverend Jesse Jackson. My heart goes out to you Jacqueline and the entire Jackson Family Jesse has been my friend since my mid-twenties, guiding me as I watched his passion for ALL people. Just standing in his space brings you to a place where you see the importance of elevating mankind above the hatred of the past. He was a courageous fighter for peace and most importantly elevating African Americans in a time and place where we were not seen as equals. We worked side by side on many occasions throughout my career. So many wonderful memories: campaigning with him on his run to becoming President of the United States (seen alongside Senator Maxine Waters’s and actor Bourges Meredith), strategically working along with my Detroit Attorney Ed Bell, and the many many other occasions.
