This Olympic experience has meant so much to me. It’s hard to put it all in a short caption, but I’ll say these things: 1. If you would’ve asked me 2 years ago if I would be here today, I would’ve just laughed but then taken a long pause. If you would’ve asked me 5 years ago, I would’ve said that the only snowboard competitions I will do for the rest of my life are banked slaloms. If you would’ve asked me 11 years ago, I would’ve told you I’m never touching a snowboard again. So to be here today, I am grateful and I am proud of myself. 2. The event didn’t go as I had planned and I didn’t execute on the vision I have been cultivating for the last year and a half. That feels like a loss that I will allow all the time and emotions to process. A lesson will come out of the disappointment and hard lessons from the past are exactly what got me here today, so I’m excited to see where this one will bring me in the future. 3.
